The Family Outreach Website aims to be a contact point for our families to find out useful information regarding activities, clubs and holiday schemes for their children. Whilst we cannot recommend any clubs or activities the Get Active part of the website aims to provide information about disability specific clubs, activities and holiday schemes for you choose from. The Family Outreach Team work closely with providers across the borough and with parent/carer/young people’s consent we are able to share key “About Me” information with providers so that they can ensure they are able to prepare for your child to attend sessions. We also offer support to facilitate access to key training where appropriate/possible to enable your child to successfully access a group/activity.
Get Active also includes activities and Events for families to attend together such as Family Outreach/School run events and local community run events.
Annual Family Outreach & School Events Include Pamper Evenings, Halesbury Christmas Fair, HSA Barn Dance and HalesFest. Family Outreach also run a summer holiday schemes. Please Family Outreach Summer Scheme Information Sheet for more information.
If your child is in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payment (PIP) you may be entitled to apply for discount cards for the Cinema (A CEA Card) or Local Leisure Centres (Dudley MBC – Options Card, Sandwell One Card). Please find information about these cards/passes in the Community Activities and Events part of Get Active.
