‘Early Help is taking action early and as soon as possible to provide support where problems are emerging for children, young people and their families. Early help support may be provided at any point in a child or young person’s life. In Dudley, we are passionate about the wellbeing of our children young people and families. Our vision is that Dudley is a place where children and young people thrive.’

At Halesbury School we work under Dudley’s Early Help Initiative to support families. This involves a three tiered approach to assessing family’s need and providing them with the correct level of support. We work independently as well as alongside other services such as the local authorities Family Centres, to provide a full range of support made available to each and every family at Halesbury.

As part of Early Help we support with a wide range of needs and circumstances, such as: parenting, behaviour management, routines and boundaries, housing, finances and much more. As our service is independent to the local authority this allows us to have very little limits and ‘thresholds’ to the support we provide. We aim to assist families in all manner of circumstances. Support is provided through direct work with families, coordinating, leading and attending Team around the Family Meetings, signposting and referrals to other agencies.

Halesbury takes a team approach to Early Help with all staff members aware of the initiative and regularly meetings take place with teachers, the Family Outreach Coordinator and Senior Leaders to discuss any Early Help concerns that may arise and ensure we are provide families with the maximum level of support possible.

When providing any level of support to a child and their family, Halesbury School and staff are committed to safeguarding and will always work in line with the schools Safeguarding Policies (hyperlink to school website-Safeguarding) and procedures.
